UPDATES FOR AUGUST 2024
August 1, 2024 - Gleanings for the Hungry: Me
August 8, 2024 - Gleanings for the Hungry: Dad
Rick Alonzo Ministries was invited to speak at Gleanings for the Hungry—a mercy ministry that provides food to third-world countries around the world—to their missions teams during dinner time.
I spoke the first week of August, Dad spoke the following week. We were able to present the Gospel both weeks and about 15-20 people raised their hands to receive Christ both nights. I shared my testimony and many came up afterwards asking for prayer. It was an emotional night. There was one man that stuck out to me. He was at the front close to the stage area, on his knees, sobbing and praying to God as I was giving an altar call. I have no idea what God was doing in his heart, but I do know God was ministering to him in a powerful way. It's a beautiful thing to witness God moving in people's lives.
August 17, 2024 - Salvation Army Men's Ministry at Camp Redwood Glen in Scotts Valley
Dad was asked to do this event last year, but was unable to because he was healing from brain surgery. This was his first performance he did everything on his own (I only painted one painting because he was using me as an example for his message). The message was on God's faithfulness. Seeing him perform, do martial arts, and speak again was physical evidence of God's faithfulness to our family. God saves, God heals, and God frees.
Many men received Christ that night (there were about 150 men present). There was one man from Iran that was there. He had been going to church for a year but felt completely numb to God. He came up to us afterwards and told us that while we were both painting, God opened his heart and his eyes to the truth that He needed Jesus, so he prayed to receive Christ for the first time that night. Praise God that He continues to chase after us even when we are numb to His presence.
August 31, 2024 - Outreach in Selma
I don't have photos for this event, but we were invited to do a backyard outreach in Selma. This woman had invited us to come out and share the Gospel in her backyard. She had seen dad many years ago and wanted to give the 30-40 people that were there an opportunity to receive Christ. Her heart for the Lord and His people was evident. She serves as an amazing example that all of us can be evangelists and use our own backyard to reach people.
Thank you to all who continue to pray for our ministry, our family, for Isaiah and I, and for the future of RAM. Thank you for your support and your encouragement. We are grateful. If you would like to book us for your next event or if you would like more information about our ministry, please go to our website: www.rickalonzo.org . Please feel free to reach out to me also if you have any questions. Thank you all. Blessings.
With love,
